6 years ago(I can’t believe that was 6 years ago), I wrote a blog introducing Gap Pad HC5.0, you can find that blog here. Anyways, I remember taking a picture on the day I wrote that blog, and telling everyone I was wearing violet button up shirt(the color of HC5.0) to celebrate the introduction of the product. At the time, GAP PAD TGP HC5000 was a major announcement because it was the highest thermal conductivity pad Henkel had at the time. Since then, the name of the product was changed to GAP PAD TGP HC5000. Thats not the only thing that has changed since then.
What is GAP PAD TGP HC5000(Gap Pad HC5.0)? And what is changing?
Funny enough, I am wearing a gray shirt today. This is poetic because due to a supply chain issue, the violet pigment is being removed from GAP PAD TGP HC5000, and being returned to a natural color state of gray. This does not affect the fit, form, or function of the material. There are no current plans to revert back to the violet pigment even if its made available again. Gap Pad TGP HC5000 is a fiberglass reinforced silicone-based thermal pad widely utilized. As discussed in my blog from 6 years ago, Gap Pad TGP HC5000 is an excellent thermal pad for low pressure applications that require high thermal conductivity. Some examples of applications include heatsinks, and telecommunications.
