NEDC services many accounts with liquid thermal gap fillers. These liquid gap fillers are used in applications where automation, and material cost over high volumes are a concern.
What Makes NEDC Different from Other Distributors for Liquid Thermal Gap Fillers?
Shelf Life is our chief concern when it comes to supplying short shelf life products such as liquid gap filler products. NEDC is concerned with batch traceability, and making providing good customer service whether its 10 cartridges, or 5000.
What are the Advantages of Liquid Thermal Gap Fillers?
Liquid thermal gap fillers (thermally conductive liquids) can have numerous advantages.
- They are significantly cheaper at scale. When they are deployed in large applications where there are a number of factors. These include: high speed manufacturing, intricate designs, and lack of manual labor will add to savings.
- They fill air voids, and provide better thermal performance than your typical thermal interface pad because of the wet-out that occurs. The thermal interface material literally cures onto the application instead of being placed onto the heatsink, or chassis.
- They can be placed in very intricate shapes due to the fact that they are dispensed. In fact, they can be placed in geometries that would not be possible with a typical thermal gap filler pad.
Why Thermal Gap Fillers were Created?
These liquid gap filler materials were designed to be especially effective at removing heat out of applications. With their super conformability, and compliancy. Thermal Liquid Gap Fillers are ultra important when removing heat out of an application.

Are there any challenges/disadvantages with Liquid Thermal Fillers?
The challenges with liquid thermal gap fillers are worth noting.
- Automation equipment can be prohibitively expensive without the need for a high volume production.
- Shelf life on these thermal interface materials is much shorter.
- When dispensing these thermal gap filler materials, it can be difficult to control the dispensing due to viscocity issues, and there are some geometry tactics that allow for better dispensing.
For these reasons, some customers that due low volume manufacturing chose to go with thermal interface pads instead of liquid gap fillers.
Are there different sizes of Liquid Gap Fillers Available?
Yes, there are multiple types of liquid gap fillers sizes available. It ranges from a cartidge that would sit in the size of your hand to a tub of material at higher quantities.
