cockpit lighting
NEDC manufactures many laser-cut products. One example of these type products is DRP Reflectors. These reflectors manufactured by Gore help illuminate lights in many aerospace applications. In a cockpit, there are many different lights that are surrounding the pilots. There is a lot to think about up there, and finding lights that are improperly luminated is not one of them. These materials can improve illuminance by up to 30%.
What do DRP Reflectors Do?
Typically DRP Reflectors are used in LED Displays, sometimes in Avonics, or other places where lighting, and brightness is important such as avionic displays in the cockpit . At NEDC we cut a lot of DRP backlight reflectors for LED displays. This helps a number of things on a functional level when it comes to functional changes we are looking to see with DRP Diffuse Reflectors.
Features of GORE® Diffuse Reflector
-Decreases energy consumption
-Increases product life without discolorations
-Improve performance with reflectance of NEAR-IR, other visual light, and UV
-DRP Diffuse Reflectors are lightweight, efficient, and uniform
How are DRP Reflectors Cut?
Typically NEDC uses its C02 laser to cut different types of DRP Reflectors whether they are .020’’ (0.5mm) or .040’’ (1mm). However, they are possible to be conventionally die-cut as well. In addition, these DRP Reflectors are available with adhesive backing to aid in assembly as well.
How do DRP Reflectors Fit Into NEDCs Product Offering?
NEDCs Product Offering is centered around electronic materials. For example, these DRP Reflectors are used in electronics, specifically to make lights more concentrated through the impact of the DRP Reflector having almost 100% of its reflection to keep the light as bright as possible.
