At NEDC, we have a core competency of thermal pads, and RF absorbers. We were wondering the other day, what if there was a product that did both conducting heat out of an application, while also absorbing RF waves, and giving it off as heat. Well, that would be an incredible lineup of a product. In fact, there is a product line that does that. It’s Lairds CoolZorb. 

Properties of CoolZorb™ Thermal/EMI Absorbers

CoolZorb™ is a unique product because it reduces RF noise in an application, while also reducing the amount of heat present in an application through its impressive thermal performance properties. These pads also have tack on both sides of the product to help wet-out onto the surface and increase overall thermal performance.  EMI Suppression varies wildly with these thermal interface pads. I put the general effective range next to each product. 

What Sets CoolZorb™ Hybrid Thermal/EMI Absorbers Apart?

The thing I like about these products is, its a 2 in one solution. In addition to that, there is a CoolZorb™ for many frequencies, and theres something to fit for nearly any frequency. Our guess is, once this product is fully realized, a lot of customers will begin to utilize it instead of buying an RF Absorber, and a Thermal Gap Filler separately.

CoolZorb™ is considered an especially unique product. This thermal gap filler pad conducts heat at an amazing 11.5 W/m-K. In addition, it offers RF absorption, along with electrical insulation.
